Willian had an interview with UOL regarding his career and personal life, and the move to Manchester United was one of the discussed topics.
Willian said:” Of course I want to play every match with Chelsea, but Chelsea have other good players as well and they all wants to play. I have to accept and respect Conte’s decision.”
Willian continued:”Of course, sometimes I get upset when I don’t play for Chelsea or get chosen in the starting line up, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love the club or the people who are working for the club. I want to fight for my place in Chelsea.”
Willian also admitted that he has contacted Manchester United:”I had contacted Manchester United before, but I was not close to leaving Chelsea.”
Knowing that the Daily Express revealed today that Jose Mourinho, Chelsea’s former manager, is interested in signing the Brazilian winger to Manchester United because he believes that Willian is more consistent than Anthony Martial, Manchester United’s current winger.
On the other hand, Willian isn’t playing with Chelsea a lot this season, where Conte depended on him during Eden Hazard’s injury and was playing as a sub most of the times. Moreover, yesterday, Willian got on the pitch for 13 minutes only in Chelsea’s 4-0 win against West Brom.
