Chelsea have finally signed a senior player for their first team during the winter transfer windows, in January, where the Blues, Chelsea FC, made their second signing of the season a few minutes ago.
Chelsea have officially signed and announced the Brazilian defender, Emerson Palmieri, who is also an Italian player after he obtained the Italian nationality during his time in the Italian Serie A while playing for A.S. Roma due to his Italian ancestry from his mother’s side.
Chelsea will benefit from the Emerson Palmieri in the Champions League as well because he didn’t play with A.S. Roma in the Champions League group stages this season where Chelsea and A.S. Roma played against each other alongside the Azberijian club, Qarabag FK, which means he isn’t cup-tied, and will be available to play against FC Barcelona, and if Chelsea qualifies for the quarter-final as well.
However, Emerson Palmieri should be a backup player for Marcos Alonso and he will create more competition for him in the squad and may rotate as well in the coming competitions in the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup.
The squad number of Emerson Palmieri has been officially announced as well where the Brazilian defender will be wearing the shirt number “33” with the London club.
