PLAYERS RATINGS: Chelsea 3-0 Newcastle And Man Of The Match

A great win for the Blues Chelsea in one of the most important competitions this season for Chelsea where it seems the main target for Antonio Conte to save the season after failing to catch up with Manchester City in the Premier League, and having a tough Champions League journey, in addition to getting knocked out against Arsenal from the EFL Cup last Wednesday.

We will rate our players after every match, here are Chelsea Insider players ratings:

Caballero: Goos saves during the match and he is taking advantage of the chances he got to prove himself. 7/10

Rudiger: Seemed that he moved on from what Happened against Arsenal, a good match. 6/10

Cahill: A good come back to Chelsea’s captain as well, not much to do tonight but was solid when he was needed. 7/10

Christensen: Solid in the back, as usual. 7/10

Alonso: He keeps adding goals to his stats this season as a defender, one assist and brilliant performance as well. 8/10

Zappacosta: Was trying to move forward and give some energy to his side, but not as good as Alonso. 6/10

Kante: Better than Arsenal’s match, an average match. 7/10

Drinkwater:  An average match again, not the player Chelsea needs to win trophies. 5/10

Pedro: Better than Arsenal’s match again, helped in scoring the goals today. 6/10

Hazard: One assist and always dangerous and giving troubles to Newcastle United’s defense, was strictly marked. 7/10

Batshuayi: Chelsea’s savior today and two goals which should give him some confidence in the coming matches. 8/10



Ampadu: Came to secure the score. 5/10

Barkley: It’s hard to rate him after months of injury, but showing some good signs. 5/10

Hudson-Odoi: Not much time to rate the youngster. N/A

Man of the match: Two players deserve it tonight, Marcos Alonso and Michy Batshuayi for their goals and effort. But I will go for Batshuayi this time, we hope that these goals give him a push forward to get back to his best.

Antonio Conte (manager): A good win and qualification, even though the opponent wasn’t a tough one, but a win is a win. Conte has to take this competition very seriously alongside with being in the top four this season to be able to build for the next season. 7/10
