PLAYERS RATINGS: Chelsea 1-1 Barcelona And Man Of The Match.

A brilliant match for the Blues Chelsea, almost the best match for Chelsea in 2018 and one of the best matches this season tactically where the luck alongside with the post wasn’t on Chelsea’s side. However, the result wasn’t in Chelsea’s favor after an individual mistake from Andreas Christensen.

Nothing is over yet, all scenarios are possible in the Camp Nou.

We will rate our players after every match, here are Chelsea Insider players ratings:

Cortouis: Not much to do, did his job when he was tested. 6/10

Azpilicueta: A warrior in the back, world-class defender. 8/10

Rudiger: Brilliant match. Was positioning well in Willian’s goal. Booked. 7/10

Christensen: 21 years old and already has the guts and ability to defend against Messi and Suarez. However, had a deadly mistake that lead to Messi’s goal. 6/10

Moses: One of his best matches, defensively and offensively. 8/10

Alonso: Maybe one of the best three players tonight. Was going forward a lot and contributing in the attack and crosses. 8/10

Fabregas: He seemed tired. Had some good moments though. 7/10

Kante: The warrior who gave Chelsea the advantage in the midfield battle through his brilliant positioning and effort. 9/10

Pedro:  We didn’t see him a lot today. Maybe Giroud was able to create some spaces for the team instead of Pedro. 6/10

Hazard: Before Messi’s goal, Eden Hazard’s stats were better than Messi’s stats where Hazard had two shots on target and created 3 chances, while Messi made just once chance. The false number 9 role didn’t suit him a lot today. 7/10

Willian: One goal and was able to score a hat-trick today, but he hit the post twice. However, brilliant performance and effort. 9/10

Subs

Morata: Had to get on for Pedro much earlier. Booked. 5/10

Drinkwater: Not much to do. 5/10

Man of the match: Willian clearly was the best player on the pitch today in both teams through his effort and goal, in addition to his two attempts which were around an inch away from scoring a hattrick.

Antonio Conte (manager): Brilliant tactics and defensive plan, even with almost 20% possession only. Dominated the match tactically, but the result wasn’t his favorite. However, his tactics today can be a lesson for many managers. 7/10
