Chelsea’s legend and former player, Frank Lampard, has sent a clear warning to Chelsea’s midfielder after the bad performance against Liverpool on Saturday.
Frank Lampard has sent a warning to Chelsea’s midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko, to step up and fight for his place in the team after his bad performance in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool FC.
In an interview with BT Sport, Frank Lampard said:”Tiemoue Bakayoko was not getting tight on the pitch. He was not protecting Gary Cahill or Marcos Alonso or the defense as he had to do. Bakayoko was playing maybe 50% or 60% only. He needs to step up and put people under pressure on the pitch.”
Tiemoue Bakayoko was heavily criticized by Chelsea’s fans and football experts on social media and after the match due to his poor performance on the pitch which he was one of Chelsea’s weak points.
Tiemoue Bakayoko arrived at Chelsea last summer from the French Champions, A.S. Monaco, to replace the departed Nemanja Matic who left for Manchester United to rejoin Chelsea’s former manager, Jose Mourinho, and he failed to fill Matic’s gap.
